Memoria e negazione. Tre film per non dimenticare

Tre film apparsi quasi contemporaneamente nelle sale – l’ungherese Il figlio di Soul, il canadese Remember e il tedesco Il labirinto del silenzio – vengono accostati dall’Autrice in una condivisa riflessione intorno alla tragedia dell’Olocausto, che tutti e tre i film esplorano con cifre narrative differenti ma cinematograficamente molto potenti. La necessità di simbolizzare come unica possibilità di sopravvivenza umana all’orrore, gli stratagemmi difensivi della memoria e della negazione, nel singolo sopravvissuto così come nei carnefici, sono le tematiche di fondo che uniscono i film e che vengono qui ripresi attraverso una breve rivisitazione cinematografica e poi psicoanalitica. Rappresentabilità dell’irrapresentabile, memoria, negazione e diniego costituiscono il percorso tematico di tre film a loro modo unici, che tentano nuovi linguaggi e impongono di non dimenticare.

Memory and Negation: Three Unforgettable Films – A Psychoanalytic Note. Three films that appeared on the scene at almost the same time – the Hungarian Son of Soul, the Canadian Remember, and the German The Labyrinth of Silence – are addressed by the author in a shared reflection around the tragedy of the Holocaust, which all three films explore in different but cinematographically very powerful narrative codes. The necessity of symbolizing as the only possibility of surviving human horror, and the defensive strategies of memory and negation – in the individual survivor as well as in the persecutors – are the underlying themes that unite the three films, and that are here taken up through a brief cinematographic review and then a psychoanalytic one. Representability of the unrepresentable, memory, negation, and denial make up the thematic journey of the films – each unique in its own way – which attempt new languages and impel us not to forget.

Mémoire et déni: Trois films pour ne pas oublier. Une note psychanalytique. Trois films, apparus presque simultanément dans les salles – le hongrois Le fils de Soul, le canadien Remember et l’allemand Le labyrinthe du silence, sont réunis par l’auteur dans une réflexion partagée sur la tragédie de l’Holocauste, que les trois films explorent avec des figures narratives différentes mais cinématographiquement très puissantes. La nécessité de symboliser, en tant que seule possibilité de survie de l’homme à l’horreur, les strategies de défense de la mémoire et du déni, dans le survécu aussi que dans les bourreaux, sont les thèmes fondamentaux qui unissent le film et qui sont ici repris à travers un bref examen cinématographique et psychanalytique. Représentabilité de irreprésentable, mémoire, déni et négation sont le percours thématique de trois films à leur manière uniques, qui essayent de nouvelles langages et qui imposent de ne pas oublier.

Memoria y negación. Tres películas para no olvidar Una nota psicoanalítica. La autora se aproxima a tres películas que aparecieron casi contemporánemente en las salas –la húngara El hijo de Soul, la canadiense Remember y la alemana El laberinto del silencio – a través de una reflexión compartida entorno a la tragedia del Holocausto, que las tres películas exploran en claves narrativas distintas pero cinematográficamente muy potentes. La necesidad de simbolizar el horror como única posibilidad de sobrevivencia humana, los estratagemas defensivos de la memoria y de la negación en el individuo sobreviviente así como en los verdugos, son las temáticas de fondo que unen las películas y que son retomadas a través de una breve revisitación cinematográfica y luego psicoanalítica. Representabilidad de lo irrepresentable, memoria, negación y denegación constituyen el recorrido temático de tres películas únicas a su modo, que ensayan nuevos lenguajes y nos obligan a no olvidar.

Erinnerung und Verleugnung. Drei Filme, um nicht zu vergessen. Eine psychoanalytische Notiz. Drei Filme, die fast gleichzeitig in den Kinosälen ausgestrahlt worden sind – der ungarische Film Sauls Sohn, der kanadische Remember und der deutsche Im Labyrinth des Schweigens – werden von der Autorin einer gemeinsamen Reflexion unterzogen in Bezug auf die Tragödie des Holocaust, die alle drei Filme – mit unterschiedlichen erzählerischen Schwerpunkten, aber mit ähnlicher filmischer Kraft – untersuchen. Das Bedürfnis zu symbolisieren als einzige Überlebensmöglichkeit in Anbetracht des Entsetzens, die Abwehrlist des Gedächtnisses und der Verleugnung – sowohl beim einzelnen Überlebenden als auch bei den Tätern – sind die Grundthemen, die diese Filme miteinander verbinden und die mittels einer kurzen filmischen und psychoanalytischen Überarbeitung aufgegriffen werden. Die Vorstellbarkeit des Unvorstellbaren, Erinnerung, Verneinung und Verleugnung bilden den thematischen Pfad der drei Filme – jeder an sich einzigartig – die neue Sprachen erproben und verpflichten, nicht zu vergessen
